No, I haven't read it *yet* :-O That's why I wanted to ask, do you guys remember the promotion on microsoft.com about 6 months ago where you could download the free ebook? Well, I never managed to get that to work, and forgot about it until now... Does anyone have it/know where I could get it? I've tried all the resources I could think of, so now I'm trying here :-) TIA :-D Paul ;) Homepage: pvdw.ath.cx

Just get the paper version. You can get all 5 books in the trilogy in one volume now anyway :-) (Plus if you see a copy, get "Last Chance To See" as well)

A trilogy of five books. That's kind of funny. a two cent stamp short of going postal.

Actually there are six books. I had the one volume with the first five, but there is another book after that. IIRC it was called "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish"

I have the books, I got the first two when I was in grade 4 ( i.e. about 10 years old ). I am now 35, and I am reading them again. I think you won't be disappointed if you shell out and buy them. Christian I have drunk the cool-aid and found it wan and bitter. - Chris Maunder

Hello Ian, Yep, I must be the only ijit who bought each one separately and the omnibus with all five. the omnibus(The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy apparently has one additional story, Young Zaphod Plays It Safe that I don't know if any of you have read , but then I'm a terrible Douglas Adams fan and have read even the Dirk Gently series(anyone?). But I swear each individual volumes and all five differ slightly too and very DA ways, that you'd never figure out unless you'd read them side by side. I swear.

I come in peace. Please take me to your vodka bottle. Amit Dey

George Thoroughood used to call his band the original five-man trio and they had four guys. That was pretty good too. ;) a two cent stamp short of going postal.

And then there is Starship Titanic, written by a friend of Douglas Adams, altough the story idea was conceived by Adams. I forgot the authors name, but on the back cover there is a photo of him - on a chair, naked with his laptop covering his parts. Apparantly he wrote the book in the nude.

I much prefer the original BBC radio series, available on CD. Don't accept any copies!

The books are not a copy! When the radio series was complete, Douglas wanted to make something bigger out of the idea. And he did!
