Rick York wrote: A trilogy of five books. That's kind of funny. That's what happens when you release a trilogy of books, then add another book a couple of years later, and then another much later (subtitled "The fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named HHGG trilogy") :-)

No, I haven't read it *yet* :-O That's why I wanted to ask, do you guys remember the promotion on microsoft.com about 6 months ago where you could download the free ebook? Well, I never managed to get that to work, and forgot about it until now... Does anyone have it/know where I could get it? I've tried all the resources I could think of, so now I'm trying here :-) TIA :-D Paul ;) Homepage: pvdw.ath.cx
Sonork: 100.33943DON'T PANIC Get the paper version, and read it whereever you go! The eBook doesn't contain the real Hitchhiker's Guide by Megadodo Publishing Company, it's "only" the book _about_ the Hitchhiker's Guide. Microsoft doesn't even has a copy of the Encyclopedia Galactica...

If you don't find it, don't panic . It's not very expensive. The one I bought cost me something like €20, and that was the hard cover edition. -- Futue te et ipsum caballum.
I guess I can fork out the 20 for it :) Paul ;) Homepage: pvdw.ath.cx

I have the books, I got the first two when I was in grade 4 ( i.e. about 10 years old ). I am now 35, and I am reading them again. I think you won't be disappointed if you shell out and buy them. Christian I have drunk the cool-aid and found it wan and bitter. - Chris Maunder

Sonork: 100.33943I much prefer the original BBC radio series, available on CD. Don't accept any copies!

IIRC it was called "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish" Nope, there's five - I've got each one separately: 1 The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy 2 The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe 3 Life, The Universe, And Everything 4 So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish 5 Mostly Harmless

And then there is Starship Titanic, written by a friend of Douglas Adams, altough the story idea was conceived by Adams. I forgot the authors name, but on the back cover there is a photo of him - on a chair, naked with his laptop covering his parts. Apparantly he wrote the book in the nude.

The books are not a copy! When the radio series was complete, Douglas wanted to make something bigger out of the idea. And he did!

I was trying to say there are at least two version of the CD/tape one the orgianl BBC series plus an obsure one. Personally I prefer the BBC radio series to the books and TV series, but there again there is no accounting for taste.
