Remember a while ago someone saying "if you find yourself unable to get through a day with less than 3 or 4 mug-sized doses of coffee, then you're really in trouble"...hmmmm....I can't get through a day without a cup on my desk constantly - equates to roughly one every half hour at most, which based on a 10 hour working day, means that I must be on 20 mugs a day.... Two questions - 1.how much does everyone else drink, and 2. what are the ill effects that I have apparently not noticed with this amount of caffeine in me? PS - fount the ideal smiley for such a post: :omg: "Now I guess I'll sit back and watch people misinterpret what I just said......" Christian Graus At The Soapbox

Hi,:omg: 1.how much does everyone else drink I am like you. I always have a cup on my desk until about Noon. Then It is a soda. 2. what are the ill effects that I have apparently not noticed with this amount of caffeine in me? I have had no problems other than needing to use the john often. I used to drink 4 - 8 pots a day. Definitely not healthy. Now I manage with only one pot in the morning, a vast improvement. Dehydration is a much overlooked effect of excessive coffee consumption; abdominal pain is another. I've heard, too, that caffeine is also associated with the formation of fibrous cysts in various parts of the body - not a problem I've encountered yet, but one I'd definitely prefer to avoid. It's worth keeping in mind that caffeine is an alkaloid, a relative of strychnine - a deadly poison used to kill rats. The toxicity of caffeine is very low, but in large concentrations it is likely to be quite damaging over time. Will Build Nuclear Missile For Food - No Target Too Small

Yeck! That orange stomach biz is gross! I can't handle coffee anymore tho i LOVE it... stomach probs. drop coffee has the most caffeine per cup then espresso with about 3/4 of drip. then tea with about 1/2 of drip. then cola, pop, etc at a LITTLE below tea. At least my stomach can HANDLE 2 cups of tea each day. And i still get a caffiene boost albeit a WEAK one...:( I miss coffee soooooo bad :/ and now i know my stomach is orange! thanks a LOT! gettin middle aged-ish bites :) ...Steve

Used to have 8 or 10 mugs. Am down to 3 maybe 4 and they are all before lunch. A coke with lunch and that usually the end of caffiene intake for the day, else I stay up all night :-)

Thanks....I was reading your post and realized that I drink more coffee than water in a normal day!!! I reach out for the coffee cup instead of the water almost involuntarily....Now I'll be more careful... Pia "Don't try to out-weird me, three eyes. I used to drink 20 cups of tea or coffee a day. Got it down to about 8 now. I did not have any health problems but something told me 20 was just asking for trouble. For a week or two I felt like crap (went cold turkey to see what it felt like) but then it was all fine. When I started drinking again it tasted good but 8 a day I have stuck to. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan quoted: "...that would require my explaining Einstein's Fear of Relatives" Crikey! ain't life grand?
