Snorkeling is like watching and diving is like doing. It's not a substitute. Are you a certified diver? If so, Florida has some beautiful water (opposed to Louisiana that is). Spend the extra $50 - it's well worth it. Jeremy Falcon

I'm heading to Key West, Florida for about four days starting this Saturday. Anybody have any advice (things to do, see, etc?) I know for sure I'm going out on the reef. I was trying to decide whether to dive or snorkel. There is about a $50 (US) difference, but I think the dive trip would be worth it. Any sugguestions?
Last time I was there we rented a small boat for the day it was only about 70-80 bucks. It was a blast, but it depends what you are there for. Honestly, I didn't like the town too much since it was so touristy. You can only be a victim if you admit defeat - Descendents

When I was there, we rented scooters to get around town on, that was a blast! Marcie http://www.codeproject.com

Are you a certified diver? I'm an open water diver, but I haven't went on a diving trip in years. Hmm... I need a vacation. :) Jeremy Falcon

Yes.. er... well mostly. I was certified 5 years ago and haven't been since due to lack of funds and too much college and work. I would have to take a refresher, but I'm definitely going to get into it again one of these days.

Pretty much the same situation for me. I was certified by PADI over ten years ago. I've since lost the physical license, but I'm hoping I can just call them up and order a replacement one. Jeremy Falcon

I just got back from there last week. I would definately suggest hitting up "Almost Heaven" parasailing company. The cost was around $35 and it's a great relaxing view over the water. Definately check out Mallory Square and Margaritaville, lots to see and do. Have fun. :) - Nick Parker

Last time I was there, I had a real good time in the evening, it's pretty good place to have party.... And here's my favorite: Check out the Hardrock cafe, it's one of the most beautyful HRC's in the world (And I have visited a lot of them....) Clickety[^] It's a good place with cool people, so have fun! Greetings from a strange planet!

Jetski around the islands is a scream. Also yachting is availble, very relaxing. I'd say both are a must! :) Ant.

Sorry for the delay. Long day. I am certified (PADI) and I want to dive the reef while I have the chance. A few people said "Just snorkel it, it's only like 30 feet deep and it's cheaper". I think that those people are retarded circus monkeys though and I think I will dive it after all. :)

Really? Do you remember where you went by chance? All the places I looked at were deep sea fishing trips for $400 - $600. That's a bit more than I was looking to spend (by "a bit", I mean about $300 - $500)
