make sure the Themes service is running. How do you move in a world of fog, That's always changing things? Makes me wish that i could be a dog, When i see the price that you pay.

ok my comps been acting crazy lately... and as a result: i cant get my theme for xp to use the 'visual styles' on buttons, etc, to get that nice childish bubbly look. i usually use that setting.. i turned on the comp today and it is using the classic style. i cant turn the option back on. i check display properties under styles dropbox, normally there are 2 options ('windows xp' and 'windows classic', or something like that), and now there is only the classic option! also, in my computer > properties > advanced tab: you can turn the visual styles on... but i cant anymore! i go turn the option on, apply, ok, go back a sec after and its off again! these buttons and options dont just disappear and stop working! ... i think any suggestions.. Thanks. ------------------------ Jordan. III

Right-click "My Computer" go to "Manage" on the context menu. Click "Services and Applications" and then "Services." On the right-hand list look for a service called "Themes" and start it. Also, go to its property page and change the startup type to Automatic. Now, go to "Display Properties" and try it again. Jeremy Falcon

LOL! Would your doing that have anything to do with Apache crashing when the machine shuts down by any chance? I'm getting that on my laptop and it's kinda annoying. Actually, it's not too surprising as Apache is normally run on servers - which aren't shut down all that often. If it's on their bug list I suspect it's pretty low priority - but that doesn't make it any the less annoying for those of us who use it on desktop or laptop boxes for development purposes.
