Ok, here at work again and I'm already getting *interesting* calls from people installing their storm doors. Any suggestions to help pass this monotony? Do you have big plans for your Saturday? - Nick Parker

Yeah, you could see if you can think of any more questions to add to our joint FAQ! :) And, no people, that isn't a FAQ about joints. Just pretend you're IT and play solitaire or CIV all day. When people call, just give them the cold shoulder and tell them to reboot (er, shut and re-open their storm doors). If that doesn't work, huff a few times and tell them you'll get to it in a minute. Play a few more games of solitaire or finish your game of CIV, and then go help, making sure to make them feel little. When finished taking the soda can out of their CD tray, come back and play solitaire or CIV some more, making sure to ignore everyone else since you had to work so much already today.

Do you give them creative suggestions for installing the doors? I realize that there are so few ways to screw up a storm door installation that your range is limited, but it could be a good exercise for your creativity. I'll be sorted through piles of 'stuff' trying to locate everything I need to rebuild this server; if I find it all I'll be doing the deed today or tonight. Farewell, cruel world... Tomorrow I'll be starting my new job - selling motorcycle parts part time for an exceedingly low wage. It's a start, and the only nibble I've had in two years.:sigh: Will Build Nuclear Missile For Food - No Target Too Small

Plans for today: Pick up remote and Compact Flash card reader from Jessops - Check! Install Provia (as opposed to the less subtle White Wedding) custom curve[^] on my D70 - Check! Go and experiment with custom curve vs non-custom curve shots outside - give me a few moments to view CP will ya? :-O Test long exposures with remote - hmmm, that all depends on whether or not this infernal cloud cover will move away and let some moonlight through :sigh: Sorry to hear you're at work - why are people with storm doors calling you? :~

You would be surprised! People screw things up, call in and don't even realize what they have done. An example: Customer: "Yeah, I just finished installing my storm door, but for some goofy reason I have to be on the outside of my house to raise and lower the windows, did I do something wrong, I followed your instructions exactly." Me: "Sir, you installed your door inside out." Customer: "Well, no this is going to leave screw holes on the body of the door if I flip it around, is this covered under the warranty?" Me: "No sir, that would not be covered under the warranty." Customer: "That's just rediculous. Why don't you cover something like this in your installation manual?" Me (phone muted): "Idiot!" Me (phone unmuted): "I am sorry sir." - Nick Parker
