You would be surprised! People screw things up, call in and don't even realize what they have done. An example: Customer: "Yeah, I just finished installing my storm door, but for some goofy reason I have to be on the outside of my house to raise and lower the windows, did I do something wrong, I followed your instructions exactly." Me: "Sir, you installed your door inside out." Customer: "Well, no this is going to leave screw holes on the body of the door if I flip it around, is this covered under the warranty?" Me: "No sir, that would not be covered under the warranty." Customer: "That's just rediculous. Why don't you cover something like this in your installation manual?" Me (phone muted): "Idiot!" Me (phone unmuted): "I am sorry sir." - Nick Parker

Do you give them creative suggestions for installing the doors? I realize that there are so few ways to screw up a storm door installation that your range is limited, but it could be a good exercise for your creativity. I'll be sorted through piles of 'stuff' trying to locate everything I need to rebuild this server; if I find it all I'll be doing the deed today or tonight. Farewell, cruel world... Tomorrow I'll be starting my new job - selling motorcycle parts part time for an exceedingly low wage. It's a start, and the only nibble I've had in two years.:sigh: Will Build Nuclear Missile For Food - No Target Too Small

Yeah, I know. After 7 years working in a hardware store, I know all about it. I well remember the joys of spending half an hour explaining to a DIYer how to do a wiring project, only to have him ask on the way out (holding a SPST switch in his hand) , "Remind me - which terminal on this does the white wire go to?" Not to mention the one who screamed at one of my people and called him stupid because he didn't have a dimmer switch for a two speed ac fan motor. Or the irate customer who couldn't find anyone who knew what a Jew nail is (corrugated fastener) - all of our help were youngsters, born after the birth of Political Correctness. Sheesh... I don't envy you. Will Build Nuclear Missile For Food - No Target Too Small

My big plans for the weekend were going out to one of these 'public houses' that people keep mentioning, but crawling into bed at 5pm today for a nap has probably put a finish to that. The good bit is after a bad back for two years today I put AC/CDs "If you want blood you've got it" on at full blast and bounced around the house for an hour earlier on, hence the nap :d Who needs a gym ? :-D Elaine (very, very tired fluffy tigress) PS I live in a detached bungalow so no problems as long as I don't start a landslide  The tigress is here :-D
