This has to be a late April Fools joke but the date says April 10th... John

That is not good news :( AMD was a cheaper option to Intel. Once this sale goes through Intel will control most of the market share and this will help them increase prices even more :( :( "Fortunately I had given him a false name" said Ukridge "Why ?" I cried amazed "Just an ordinary business precaution" he replied

That will never happen as it would create a worse monopoly than msft. John

Its definetely not good news if that's true. Its never a good news for the consumer when there's a lack of choice. Also now Intel can name its price and features. Regards, Tiruvan

Hmmmmm.... If you hold April 10 up to a mirror you get 01 lirpA. A lirpa is a vulcan weapon which Spock and Kirk used in their famous duel. Oddly, that episode is called Amok Time. What does it all mean?? :suss: BW CP Member Homepages

Isn't there a monopolies issue here ? Since both companies are US based I suspect the SEC may want a little chat with Intel... Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

Wow. I don't know how they do it, but this website is showing us Saturday's news today! (April 10, 2004 is still four days away - or three days away if you are in India.) On a side note, it looks like the articles are written by amateurs. Take a look at this weak article on outsourcing: http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/showstory.jsp?storyid=5134[^]. The author seems to have a pretty shallow understanding of economics.

Not that I haven't watched my share in the quiet private of late night TV, but I honestly had no idea what googling on 'lirpa' would uncover. :-O BW CP Member Homepages

I thought it was funny that they represented Intel with a person wearing a BLACK (color normally associated with a villain) suit and AMD with a WHITE (color normally associated with a hero) suit... Steve
