Are there some standard templates in use for putting down concepts, software design, coding progress, and testing?
There are different methods for the software development process, most having their own suggested ways of doing things. A google for "software methodology" would probably give some examples. Personally, I like to use my own document formats, the ones that fit they way I work rather than some University defined methodology. A good start for a functional specification document is here[^].
