First I hope this is the correct form cause it falls between asp and C#. In any event here is my problem. I don't know what settings if any to change on my computer to get my asp webpages to work. To be more specific i add controls to the webform and build my solution and run it locally and all my controls (textbox, dropdown) do not display on the webform at all. However, I uploaded my webform and webconfig file to a hosting site and it works fine. Would it be something i need to change in my web.config file? Or permissions on the computer? I'm lost i tried to find some help on this but came up empty. I have a book but it really doesn't explain how to setup the IIS properties. Thanks for your help. Found the answer to my question. You have to reregister the asp.net by doing the following. First of someone correct me if i'm wrong but XP HOME will not allow ASP to run? Anyway do the following to get asp to register. 1) start 2) run 3) type in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -i ***might have to change the path depending on your version then you should be home free it will popup saying starting asp.net Win32newb "Making windows programs worse than they already are"

yup, that the solution to ur problem. Since u already have found ur answer i am not going to say anything on that, but i'll tell why u got this error at the first place. That's bcs u installed ur IIS after u installed ur .net, right ?? Parshu
