I disagreed with many on that list. However, "Achy Breaky Heart" is definitely a contender ! X| __________________________________________ a two cent stamp short of going postal.

I'm with you. Several of those songs are quite good - both in lyrics and melody. Achy just plain sucks though. :) Cheers, Tom Archer "Use what talents you possess. Those are nothing, in fact I rather like most of those songs except American Life and Party All the Time. I once karaoked Achy Breaky Heart in front of hundreds of people to win a Sound Blaster 16, I lost which makes the memory even more painful. And we all know the worst song of all time is: Badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger mushroom mushroom. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan quoted: "...that would require my explaining Einstein's Fear of Relatives" Crikey! ain't life grand? Einstein says...

I'm assuming you were smart enough to do away with all the witnesses so that now you're just playing up the urban legend of how Paul Watson was once something less than the coolest South African on the planet? ;) Cheers, Tom Archer "Use what talents you possess. According to this it is "We built this city"[^] by the Starship X| Rounding out the top 10: "Achy Breaky Heart," Billy Ray Cyrus; "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" Wang Chung; "Rollin'," Limp Bizkit; "Ice Ice Baby," Vanilla Ice; "The Heart of Rock & Roll," Huey Lewis and the News; "Don't Worry Be Happy," Bobby McFerrin; "Party All the Time," Eddie Murphy; "American Life," Madonna; and "Ebony and Ivory," Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. I can't believe no-one's mentioned "The War Song" by Culture Club. You know - the one that had the chorus that began:

            War, war is stupid,
            And people are stupid

...sung to a nursery rhyme tune. Way to trivialise the thing you're trying to protest against! At least most of the others mentioned are meant to be mildly humorous, even if they failed - as far as I can tell "The War Song" was completely sincere and also utterly awful. I looked up the lyrics and found that the rest of the song isn't quite so bad, but the bit I've quoted is the only bit that stuck in the mind. Maybe I'd turned the radio off before I heard the rest back in the '80s. Gavin Greig "Haw, you're no deid," girned Charon. "Get aff ma boat or ah'll report ye." Matthew Fitt - The Hoose O Haivers: The Twelve Trauchles O Heracles.

Worst song of all time: "Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a Mercedes Benz, my friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends. Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends. Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a Mercedes Benz?" Do I need to go on? ;P I have a symbiotic relationship with my computer.

That is bad. You probably already know this, but the Quizno song was based on the Moon Song[^] X| Gary Kirkham A working Program is one that has only unobserved bugs I thought I wanted a career, turns out I just wanted paychecks
