I need to find a very tiny lightweight mp3 player for the gym. I'd like it to hold at least an hour or two of music. Any recommendations?

Mine takes a single AA battery, which gives excellent life; the second one above has an internal rechargeable battery, which is nice, plus it's a little flatter. You have to install software to manage your files, but you can also update the firmware to use these devices as pen drives, no software required. (No matter what, you have to make use of the mini-USB cable supplied to hook it up to a computer.) They all support recording from line in, voice, or the included FM radio, at your chosen bitrate. You can pack many hours of music onto the device, and still have ten or twenty hours left for high-quality recording. As for ease of use of the player itself, it's the easiest to use of any I've seen. PC Magazine also rated it most highly of any reviewed flash MP3 player for this reason. Regards, Jeff Varszegi

yeah, the iRiver players are pretty cool - I dont yet have one, I want 'it all' - store music & files & FM radio & > 1GB ...(greedy arnt I) .. it would be interesting to see if they can arrange delivery to Australia - else I'll ask mp3direct (who's link I posted to Steve before) what they can do ... thanks for your link to 'iriveramerica' 'G'

I'm waiting for some lossless compression scheme, like FLAC, to become the de facto standard, with device support; this'll probably coincide neatly with tiny players with mass storage in the 20 GB plus range. Then I'll find it irrestible to buy a new player-- but first I'll force myself to re-rip my thousands of CDs (ugh). I only wanna have to go through that once more in my life... Oh, and by that time, I'll also want a player with FM output and wireless USB. :) Regards, Jeff Varszegi
