Does anyone feel that the final release of WinXP is less stable than the Release Candidates? My Explorer crashes atleast once a day. I was running RC 1 for the longest time and never had any trouble. Also, my scanner worked with RC 1 and now doesn't with the final release. Justin

Did you upgrade from the RC1 version? If so, then that is your problem. Never, ever, upgrade from pre-release versions! David Wulff, Founder of The BLA dwulff@battleaxesoftware.com [100.9977:Dave] New's flash - Bob caught in kitchen incident.

Mine's pretty stable once I get it running. Although, the only way I can boot it is to go into safe mode, and then reboot normally and it works fine. It never boots correctly on the first try. Its pretty annoying but I'm sick to death of reinstalling my system cuz Microsoft OSs fsck everything up on me. Josh Knox Josh@that-guy.net

I'm having the same problem as u, Josh. On first boot, it will hang after the login. But if I boot into safe mode and the reboot normally, it works. However, I've noticed that this problem only exist when I have Norton Antivirus 2002 installed. Uninstalling it "fixs" the problem. Oh, and one other thing to note is that I have an internal Zip250 drive. On another machine (no zip drive), XP and Norton Antivirus 2002 seems to live happily ever after.

I've not had many Explorer crashes just one I think. However I'm forever having a crasing msdev.exe. Hopefully there will be another service pack to fix these issues. Michael :-)

Hmmm... I see some consistencies with our problem. I've got NAV2002 and an internal Zip as well. Have you updated the Zip drivers? I'm gonna try that and get rid of NAV to see if it works for me. Thanks for the input. Josh Knox Josh@that-guy.net
