colleagues who have more clues about taxes than me. The tax declaration papers are due tomorrow, and I had forgotten all about form K4. Had I failed to file that form, I would have gotten €7000 tax - eventhough my earnings was 0, zero, nada, nothing. :shudder: -- Booohoo!

You have to turn in a form for your taxes - even if you made no money and the government charges you €7000 if you don't do it? That is really messed up. But then again, I don't know how much €7000 is. Is that Euros? If so - that is BRUTAL! Who gets to keep the money? Your country or the EU supreme soviet?

I think I could've gotten the money back, but shelling out €7000 just to have it back later (minus fee for reporting incorrect figures - which ironically didn't change at all anyway) isn't my cup of tea. And yes, € is the symbol for Euro. :) -- Booohoo!

At one point (3 years ago) I was up €20,000 on the deal :) But then the stocks fell, so I actually ended up losing €1500 in interests. Oh well, it was a gamble with small risks - they seldomly pay off (nor do they foreclose your stuff, which is a good thing ;)) -- Booohoo!
