Remember this 1980s television series? It seems David Hasselhoff has been trying to turn it into a movie, and had lined up a studio to make the flick. But now, Hasselhoff and the studio have parted ways, says an insider, because of “artistic difference.” The source explains: “The studio didn’t want the car to talk. David was like, ‘Hello?’ So he’s switching studios.” The whole basis of the show was about K.I.T.T. How can you even consider the show without a talking car?

Seriously, I went to watch Starsky and Hutch and left the cinema in tears. What a total waste..the only two punch lines were in the trailer..the rest of the movie was a wash out. I'm never watching a Stiller movie again unless everybody else in the world watches it first :( " Why oh why didn't I take the blue pill ? "

Man, apartently someone doesn't agree with you! I do, though. It's stupid how Hollywood is desperately trying to make people think they can still tell a decent story when almost everything is just a rehash of an old TV show (and they usually do the original show no justice) or the umpteenth remake of another movie. Sure, many will say they can't tell an original story because every plot has been done to death (and maybe that's true), but there's only so many conflicts and ways to resolve those conflicts that people will actually like. What really irks me is that Hollywood demands such tight control over all this garbage when we've already seen it on TV over the last few decades. I'm not one of these people that totally boycotts Hollywood. I still go to movies for entertainment, but I stopped hoping for something new a long time ago and try to steer clear of TV remakes because they often poison my opinion of the original.

With Hasselhoff as old as he is, now K.I.T.T. will have to do even more work, so of course he has to talk! That's like New Line deciding to take hobbits out of Peter Jackson's next movie after "King Kong" (i.e., "The Hobbit")!

If TV shows of the 70's and 80's are successfully made into movies during the 00's, imagine the movies being made 25 years from now. Survivor : Artic Challenge. American Idol : The Dream Continues. 24 Hours : A Day In The Life. My brain is hurting already. :rolleyes: Chris Meech We're more like a hobbiest in a Home Depot drooling at all the shiny power tools, rather than a craftsman that makes the chair to an exacting level of comfort by measuring the customer's butt. Marc Clifton VB is like a toolbox, in the hands of a craftsman, you can end up with some amazing stuff, but without the skills to use it right you end up with Homer Simpson's attempt at building a barbeque or his attempt at a Spice rack. Hey I quite enjoyed Starsky and Hutch, but then I never watched the series so it was just another comedy flick to me. (I didn't vote you down btw :))

The television series was not a comdey, and the car was just as much a star as the two occupants. I'm not sure the movie makes the car out to be anything other than a red vehicle with a white stripe.

What do you mean? They already have Ultraman movies. That and the Power Rangers. Ah, yes, giant robots in America. But nobody does giant robot movies better than Japan.
