Got the Email Virus...

...now ppl are getting email from my id just wondering how does it do that email ppl from my id, how did i get infected? C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do, it blows away your whole leg
You probably didn't. Most recent email-borne viruses randomly choose both From and To addresses from the victim's (Windows) address book and/or from documents on their system. It basically tries to cover its own tracks. It's worth checking with a good, up-to-date virus scanner anyway, but if you're keeping your Windows patches up to date, have a firewall, and are careful about what email attachments you open (hint: don't open the attachment to a 'delivery failure' email, because that's another way that viruses spread unfortunately), it's unlikely you've been infected. Stability. What an interesting concept. -- Chris Maunder

mailMonty wrote: now ppl are getting email from my id It only looks that way. Someone else has been infected by the virus and your name is in their address book. The virus sends e-mail to others using the names in the address book as the "from" address.

My ISP recently added virus protection direct on their Mail server /Jarek As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.
