Why they got it: They are helpful, trusted members. What does it mean: These dedicated members help ensure that a million members sending hundreds of articles each week do the right thing. They can moderate and remove inappropriate articles, edit eye-straining formatting and move under-performing (or recovering) articles to and from Purgatory. If you see an article that needs attention then let these guys know. Spot them in the forums by their protectors icon. CodeProject Protectors FYI: I don't work for or represent Code Project so the above is my opinion (except the quoted bit of course). :) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Chris Maunder wrote: "I'd rather cover myself in honey and lie on an ant's nest than commit myself to it publicly." I could be wrong, not being among the elite here, but I think that means that they do their coding and editing while wearing a prophylactic. That keeps the rest of us safe from unwanted bugs... Some people think of it as a six-pack; I consider it more of a support group.

Do we need to apply to become protectors ? Or it will pickup by CP ? Of course! If you've ever worked in a clean room facility you probably have heard of a 'finger cot', a short latex cover worn over each finger while assembling delicate electronic or mechanical devices.;P Some people think of it as a six-pack; I consider it more of a support group.
