Does anybody knows how much RedHat charges for its consulting? Ballpark figures? Let's say, database clustering or penetration test for instances? Norman Fung

Rumour has it that consulting is how they make their money. Taking that into consideration + paying the salaries for a bazillion open source programmers, I reckon they charge a lot. -- Booohoo!

For your information though: RedHat financial report 2003 Anyway, I'm just curious what's the norminal rate for different type of consulting project... are we talking about US$200/hr? or US$50/hr? (or as cheap as some Asian vendors US$20-30/hr) :) Norman Fung

Don't know about Linux, be in .NET it is typical to see $65-$75/hr but I work for $40/hr with no complaints depending on the type of project of course. It does get to me though when I have to pay a plumber $75 per hour.. But then I would not want to switch with him ;) Rocky <>< www.HintsAndTips.com www.GotTheAnswerToSpam.com
