Underworld is one of those movies that satisfyingly entertaining provided you are able to turn off your brain. The plot's a bit weak in places, but the effects and such are neat. The end is quite hilarious if your brain refuses to turn off :) Haven't seen School of Rock yet, so can't comment there. *possible spoiler - select body for text*
Doesn't the "super-vampire" at the end remind you a bit of a pissed off smurf? Kind of like the episode where Gargamel makes that spell that turns all the Smurfs purple and they run around biting each other on the ass and saying "Gnap Gnap Gnap"?

I think with any movie that goes up against Jack Blacks', you will just have to go for the other movie. I will only watch a Jack Black file if i'm bored to death. Even then, sometimes grass growing seems more appealing. Go Underworld. Its pretty stupid, but just go for the entertainment value. Not the acting or plot.

I saw School of Rock on a flight to San Francisco earlier this year. While it was mildly entertaining, the jokes are predictable and it was also mindless crap.

Well, if you can get into the modern story of vampires and wrewolves thing, Underworld is good. I haven't seen School of Rock, but I don't care enough for Jack Black to make an effort to. I like that vampire/werewolf stuff, so I got into Underworld. It's not an epic movie obviously, but it's not horrible either. But Underworld does have a hard time getting to the end/point.

none of them is a great film... all of them are entertaining films... one is based on special effects. the starring of the other one is "specially effected"... one tries to be serious with a plot that involves werevolves and vampires... the other tries to... well, I don't know... I suppose that it's about a "specially effected" guy that rock and roll and roll and special... well. :sigh: well to be serious, I've seen all of them and underworld it's not bad, but the other one is funny (more or less the same kind of film than american pie...) take a look at INTERNET MOVIE DATABASE SITE[^] and you'll get detailed information about all of them...

I highly recomend Underworld. The effects are great, the action is good, and Kate Bekinsale... :DROOL:
