Jackson Structured Programming aka (JSP) I remember getting this rammed down my throat in a Pascal Uni course, in the days when PASCAL was still considered a programmers learning language. The lecturer really took it seriously, admittedly a majority of it made sense at the time. Funnily enough I believe JSP was aimed at COBOL rather than PASCAL. It must have made an impression on me because I still think back to the examples we were given. I was impressed a while ago when some young chaps new what APL was here in the Lounge. So does anyone remember this ? It was being touted as the next big thing at the time. Does anyone know what I'm talking about! Or did you think this Post was about that singer chappie. Just out of school I did a COBOL course (it was just before Y2K, you could not get any other course except COBOL!) and having been brought up on BASIC, QBASIC and Visual Basic I was thinking "omg! You want me to programme HOW?!?!". JSP was far stricter than I was used to. But in the end I found out that it did actually help. Unfortuanatley I know do mainly ASP coding and if you ever do that you can through structure out of the window. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass Cape Town, South Africa Do you Sonork? Argh! Was taught that in college. Doing Pascal also. Everyone in the class absolutely hated programming, except for me. They all thought Pascal was the hardest thing ever. I did think that JSP was a bit unnecessary, and hated it. Simon Hey, it looks like you're writing a letter! Sonork ID 100.10024

Glad to hear somebody else had heard of it. I was beginning to think maybe I was hallucinating again, "darn mushrooms". Yeah I think everybody else hated it also although I did find it useful. The guts of it was "use jsp" to write programs without bugs and anomalies. My code seldom has bugs (fingers twisted) And I wonder if JSP has anything to do with it. Hey how come we have never sonorked together Simon? Regardz Colin J Davies

Yeah it might just well be a timing thing, I have actually replied, www.sonork.com has provided us CPians now with our own tracker room called "Bob's HungOut" under Computers->UserGroups-> also I quite often have a Conference open with the same name. Most of the time its Dead, but sometimes it really w00ts along! Anyhow sometime we'll meet up and I'll give you a crash course in sonork "IMing" and show you some of the undocument features (that is if you want to see them). Cheers! Regardz Colin J Davies
