You are right...there's no point ranting about it. When I see inhuman things like "beheading of civilians" by terrorists it makes me angry. But when I see pictures like these and read of the inhuman tactics deployed by Americans it dissapoints me to a very great extent. Its like comparing crooks and good people...a crook is a crook and its not surprising if the crook behaves like one but it gets disgusting when good people act like crooks. Not to get too philosophical but everyone has to answer for their deeds ...coz someone up there is watching us. It really doesn't matter if its a prison guard or the Prez himself....everyone has to answer. Regards, SRT

While I do not disagree with your assessment - I'd point out that Clinton was equally "teflon-esque" and I'm not seeing many (any?) high-level politicians that aren't equally weaselish. Sadly I think it's now a trend. :sigh: "The White House is saying they still do not have a timetable for when the U.S. will be out of Iraq although they hinted that it might be early in the Kerry administration." but, i deleted it. :) one of Bush's campaign ideas was that he was going to return "responsibility" and "honor" to the White House. well, he certainly didn't manage to do that. i now wonder if he kept any campaign promises. i can name a half-dozen that he's broken, but none that he's kept. but you're right, all politicians are slimy to some degree (it's the job, i guess). but, after listening to Gulianni yesterday and McCain over the last few weeks, it's clear to me that at least some of them would do The Right Thing instead of the Politically Beneficial Thing. either of them would get my vote - even though McCain is very^ conservative. Don Nickles is almost conservative enough for me ... :-D "In the final analysis, secularism is little more than another religion the first amendment should be protecting the American people against."
