Xbox sold out?
-
One of my colleagues asked me whether I know anyone in Microsoft, so that she can get hold of an Xbox for her son. Anyone???
Tell her to get in line. :) Man those things sold out fast. I know that Amazon.com periodically has more to sell, but they go fast, so you'll/she'll have to monitor the site quite often. Also, you have to buy it in a bundle with a bunch of crap. The upside to that is you can choose which "crap" you want. Hah! If I had an inside line I'd have one in my living room already...;^) We can't get them. Anyone at MS I know who has one ordered it at Target or Toys r us many weeks ago. I ordered mine retail as well, won't be here for a while. Walter Sullivan Lead Program Manager, ATL/MFC

Envy Me! I have an XBox! Dead or Alive 3 (DOA3 to us owners) is flat outstanding. The "Drunken Master" character acts just like Jackie Chan from "The Drunken Master". Munch's Odysee is a great game with a lot of humor and character. Mad Dash Racing 2 kind of sux, I want to see if I can take it back. Don't waste your money on memory modules, but get another controller. The XBox (like the one that I own) ships with only one. If you have kids, get several, there are 4 hookups on the box itself and there are a number of games that are designed for lots of players. DOA3 can have "tag team" matches and Fusion Frenzy looks really cool. (There is a demo with several of the games on Fusion Frenzy on the Munch game.) The controllers are designed for adult hands and are very comfortable. Supposedly the box can rip cd's and store and play the music. I haven't tried it out yet. I have gotten no work done since the 15th. -John

What, you didn't get Halo? If there's one good reason to get an XBox, Halo is it, according to some critics. The other games seem to have as good if not better equivalents on PS2, again, according to some critics. I personally don't have a first-hand opinion since I don't have an XBox or PS2 system. Still, I'm leaning more towards the words of "some critics" who say that PS2 is king when it comes to the variety and quality of games available today. And after all, it's the games that really matter. So I'll probably get a PS2 this Christmas and an XBox next Christmas, when there are more and better games. Regards, Alvaro

well, there was a debate on what 3 games to get with the bundle. we (wife and i) wanted munch's odysee and doa3, and we (she) wanted a racing game (since doa3 was "my" choice), so in looking over the racing type games mad dash looked like it would be fun for multiple players, so we chose that,,, in truth, it's actually kinda hard and confusing to play, so we are going to get project gotham,, halo is going to be a xmas present (possibly, we are buying a house, and that has first dibs on any spending cash) -John
