all i want is a simple popup blocker.. no special toolbar or anything... just something to block popups unless i hold down Ctrl while clicking or something that would be great.. anyone know of such a simple little tool? also, i did try the popup blocker on CodeProject (one of the articles) but it didnt block out all popups thanks

I like PopupPopper, from Bayden.com. It incorporates directly in to IE, and can keep a list of sites where you always want to allow popups, and sites where you never want to allow popups. Basically, when a Popup tries to, um, popup, you get a dialog where you can Allow the popup, Deny the popup, always allow popups on this site, or always deny popups on this site. Most of my users here at work have it installed, and they love it. Kyosa Jamie Nordmeyer - Cho Dan Portland, Oregon, USA

I second the vote for Firefox... it's just a better browser. Still, if you want IE, if you wait just another couple of months SP2 for XP (assuming you're using XP) should be out with built-in support for pop-up blocking. I ran one of the release candidates for a while and it worked very well.

The free one I use comes from www.panicware.com. It handles 98% of the pop-up windows that plague me.

I use http://www.proxomitron.info/[^]. It stops popups, various potentially dangerous scripts, filters out ads, freezes gifs, etc. Since it's a proxy based filter, it allows you to spy on the HTTP protocol, which I've found useful in application development. Of course, it's also very easy to temporarily disable the filter in case you need/want to. Unfortunately, it's no longer being developed, but I must say the last release (4.5 something) has not given me any headaches. It's worth checking out. :) -- Booohoo!

A little Info icon appears at the bottom left corner of the screen if it blocks any popup windows. Double click that and it gives you a list of "blocked" address. You can Unblock them and reload the page. Jeff Martin Triple20 Software

Doing this will add the site to allow popup list. What I meant is, when ctrl is pressed, it will allow popup at that moment but wont add to the list. //Start of joke Never comment ur code.
