The free one I use comes from www.panicware.com. It handles 98% of the pop-up windows that plague me.

The first character of the sig is "ro-" in Greek alphabet, and the icon following this character is showing a "-man". :) Rado

Ah. I saw ro and man, but I figured the - meant "subtract man from ro". I was puzzled. :) -- Booohoo!

I use http://www.proxomitron.info/[^]. It stops popups, various potentially dangerous scripts, filters out ads, freezes gifs, etc. Since it's a proxy based filter, it allows you to spy on the HTTP protocol, which I've found useful in application development. Of course, it's also very easy to temporarily disable the filter in case you need/want to. Unfortunately, it's no longer being developed, but I must say the last release (4.5 something) has not given me any headaches. It's worth checking out. :) -- Booohoo!

Firefox is by far what I've found to be the best. It is also small, and open source. Aaron Eldreth TheCollective4.com My Articles While much is too strange to be believed, Nothing is too strange to have happened. - T. Hardy

Is there a feature in FireFox by which I can allow popup on press of Ctrl or something, even if the site is not added to allow list. //Start of joke Never comment ur code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand !!! //End of joke

A little Info icon appears at the bottom left corner of the screen if it blocks any popup windows. Double click that and it gives you a list of "blocked" address. You can Unblock them and reload the page. Jeff Martin Triple20 Software

Doing this will add the site to allow popup list. What I meant is, when ctrl is pressed, it will allow popup at that moment but wont add to the list. //Start of joke Never comment ur code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand !!! //End of joke

There is an add-in that replaces the flash with an icon. The animations will only run if you click the icon.

Ctrl+click opens the link in a new tab, Alt+click saves the link, Shift+click opens the link in a new window. Follow the link I posted earlier and read the documentation to find out if there is another way of allowing popups. I haven't had a reason to use that kind of feature, so I really don't know. Try Windows XP SP2. However, you have to wait a couple of months before it'll be released. Regards Thomas
