WinXP and zipped files

Does anyone else get annoyed by the stupid wizard just to extract files ? How does the built-in zip functions work in XP ? I think it is the
zipfldr.dll
, is there anyway to just right-click a zip file and have it extract in the current directory (maybe some reg setting) ;PR.Bischoff

Is there a wizard for xp built-in zip?:~ So far, i just double click the zip file and it opens another explorer showing the contents. Then i'll do a copy and paste to extract it. Weiye Chen When pursuing your dreams, don't forget to enjoy your life...

What wizard? Try using Winzip or 7-zip, they both have context menu's with 'unzip here' functionality.
I usually just use drag & drop to extract files from zipped folders on WinXP. Anyway, the WinZip[^] is not free, and why purchase something else when the functionality is already built-in (those of us on a low budget always carefully decide which software they really need :) ). But the 7 zip[^] looks promising and it is free, thanks for the tip, I'll try it. :) Rado

Yes, that's exactly what I do. But when you right click on a zip file and select the "Extract" command, you will get a wizard. Rado

You can do like I did, just change the .zip file association and that's all you need to get rid of the built-in zip folders anymore.
