Until Saturn orbit insertion[^]. Unfortunately, the event will occur at about 6.30 am local time on a work day, so I won't be celebrating it with a beverage. :sigh: -- Ich bin Joachim von Hassel, und ich bin Pilot der Bundeswehr. Welle: Erdball - F104-G Starfighter

With each one of these probes we learn just 'so much more' !! I'm continually impressed. The pics of Phoebe also beat anything seen on Friends. :-) Regardz Colin J Davies

I don't understand. If they can go to Saturn's moon, why didn't they go to Saturn instead? Weiye Chen When pursuing your dreams, don't forget to enjoy your life...

It's only the first target for observation. The probe will be orbiting Saturn for at least the next 3 years.

The composition of Saturn is similar to that of Jupiter. A little bit less dense, but although very similar. Remember Galileo[^]? After the probe had reached a certain depth in Jupiter's atmosphere, it was crushed pretty much like a human being would be on the bottom of the Mariana trench. It's safe to assume that the same would happen in Saturn's atmosphere. As well as Neptune's and Uranus' atmospheres. But hey! I bet if you volunteer, Nasa could send you there in a probe and let you decide for yourself. I'm sure human intelligence aboard a deep space craft would be handy if an onboard computer needs to be rebooted or reprogrammed. :) -- Ich bin Joachim von Hassel, und ich bin Pilot der Bundeswehr.
