Folks, I am going across to Snowdonia this weekend. Anybody got any recomendations for places to see / walks to do / sights to photograph? Thanks in advance, Duncan '--8<------------------------ Ex Datis: Duncan Jones Merrion Computing Ltd

It will be raining (it always is in Wales) so it doesn't make much difference where you go. ;) A visit to Trawsfynydd Power Station (if it's still possible) is very interesting. Don't miss a trip on the Blaenau Ffestiniog railway.

Sounds brilliant! I can't give any advice, but am looking forward to hearing some upon your return . We got to Brecon Beacons this weekend (if you want to know anything about there fire away :) ), but Snowdonia just seemed to far for only 2,5 days.

One of my best friends is head of tourism for the Brecons - what did you think?

Feedback for tourism... hmmm... well, I was surprised that crime is so bad down there that everyone advised us not to park in unattended (but official) parking spots when hiking to waterfalls. Other than that, we were impressed with everything. Mostly the lack of people we came across - usually beautiful places in the UK seem to be overrun with speeding cars, but that wasn't the case at all. * Photographic gripes and pleasures :-O : It's one of the most photogenic[^]places I've had the pleasure of visiting over here, superb really, even my husband who's not into photo kept pointing out things. But (there's always a but isn't there  ) the very well thought of parking places to appreciate views were clearly not chosen by photographers :-O :-O :-O. The best views were blocked by hedgerows full of stinging nettles :sigh:. * I realise I am completely unreasonable and picky when it comes to this, and hope your friend will take it in the tongue-in-cheek manner in which it's meant :)

Thanks :) We met up with Iain Clarke for a pub supper while we were down there, which was great. CP rocks for meeting people  I'm not sure why you get a 404, but Typepad have been a little flaky lately.

Climbed Snowdon from the Llanberis side. Fantastic views and - I hope - some good protographs. I shall put them up on the gallery when developed. '--8<------------------------ Ex Datis: Duncan Jones Merrion Computing Ltd
