-
I just bought a new Toshiba notebook and this is the first time i am using a notebook. I find it hot when i start using it. Its get heated up in the bottom. Is it common or is there is any fault with the system. Thanks. Ganesh.M.Ramaswamy
I think its normal behaviour and I have felt it gets warmer when running on direct power as opposed to when runnin on battery Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

The air coming from the fan vent is always very warm - useful since it is cold where I work! It would be nice if there was a vent on the right side too, since I would be able to use both hands for typing! This is my fourth laptop and all of them run very warm since all of the system's components are physically close to each other. I too have a Toshiba, actually typing in the reply on it, model Satellite 3005. It does get way warm when I am working for awhile with it plugged in our not. The heat seems to be concentrated on the bottom near the processor and RAM. Don't worry, I've been using mine for the last couple of months and it's still chugging along :-) Sam C ---- Allsys Technologies http://www.allsystech.com "Making software simpler..."

My Dell laptop gets VERY warm and even comes with a warning not to use it on your lap in case you burn your legs (or worse!). :)
