I saw one a few days ago that actually had ""SPAM:" as part of the subject line. I just happened to think...why didn't the law firm that "created" the first spam message apply for a patent - they could either be very, very rich...or we would not have a problem with spam today (approaching 70% of all e-mails). I've been getting an unusually large number of spams with the subject line "you have 1 voicemail message" - nearly 25% of all of todays spam messages were duplicated of that one message...after doing the "save target as" to the links(s)...the trail ends up at an undisclosed (IP address only) "adult entertainment" site.. The one and only time I saw that was in an explicietly requested from a software support guy (it was the late hours, it seemed that the normal support bozo was out and dropepd the phone support to the developer) so what's the point of yet another very very rich law firm? but I guess it would have worked. spam works only because recipient pays at least his share

So the patent would be for "An electronic method for the distribution of unsolicited advertising" :( Steve
