I've seen news stories (on TV) twice in the past week about ducklings falling thru a grating into the sewer - both times the chicks were rescued. Once by City Water Works employees and the other by the Fire Department! :hurrah: Mom was nearby honking away until her kids were rescued. Steve

I can see why people would be upset though, a pike might have missed out on an easy meal if it wasn't for the grate.
