Yahoo! IM = MalWare

OK, I admit I'm on a crusade here  Yahoo seems to have killed my IM connection usings Trillian, soo I figured I'd D/L Yahoo! While Trillian gets fixed. I chose Custom install becuase I don't want the toolbar, popup stopper or Yahoo mail etc. I just want the IM client (actually I really don't want it either but have little choice). When you select 'Custom' install you can't unselect the 'Set Yahoo as my default search engine', all is not lost, the next page allows you to unselect everything apart from IM. Then my desktop gets populated with Yahoo! icons, I don't remember agreeing to that. Neither did I say it could add all those icons to my start menu. One would have been enough. I looked into my Add/Remove programs to be greeted with 4 entries from Yahoo, including the toolbar I asked it not to install, a component for 'Yahoo mail' that I can't get rid of... I'm ,

As one of the other posters says, trillian is patched now, so I'm happy again. It was the French on the web-site with the Arabic graphics that fooled me  I'm from Scotland, and my wife is Moroccan :-D
