If there's one thing I hate, it's pop-up advertisments on the internet. Does anyone know of any way to block or stop these things? Especially the kind that spawn other pop-ups when you close them. Grrrrrrrrr... With a highspeed connection your task bar is quickly full of this junk. The other thing I hate is finding AOL Free Trial Icons on my computer after I install something. Sure it's no problem to just close and/or delete these little bits of trash, but why should I have to? It's my computer! Nobody asked me if they could open these things on my machine? DIE, DIE, DIE!!!! Sorry. Just a little peeved about those things. I don't go walking into people's homes and putting ads up on their fridge do I? I'd be arrested on site. My opinion is that I should at least have a choice in the matter. Especially the AOL icons! The single pop-ups aren't so bad, I guess. They gotta pay their bills somehow. "Die and be damn’d; and figo for thy friendship!" -Pistol, King Henry V, Shakespeare

Whenever I run into what looks like an incoming pop-up blitz, I put my fingers on the Alt+F4 keys and start zapping the bastards as soon as they show their dirty little title bars. It's actually kinda fun. :-) Regards, Alvaro

Just downloaded and tried it. It is working great. $12 bucks. Not a bad deal. I tried the second one listed here, way too hard to use. I am an old fart now. Don't have the time to be a poweruser and learn a hard interface. Tim Smith Descartes Systems Sciences, Inc.

www.naviscope.com will stop popups for you, and has other advantages - such as getting the next page before you click next when looking at search results. So need to waste the 1 or 2 seconds waiting for the page :) If you want to get rid of other stuff that you don't ask for, like the spyware that gets installed by some 'free' programs, try Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. - Wilka
