So I shaved yesterday a bit overzealously...generally, whenever I do this, I get some odd form of razor burn where I get a few isolated tiny zits. This upsets me to no end, as I am 27 and should not in my mind be getting acne any more. So I scratched one of them off last night whilst watching a movie. Didn't think anything of it, just absentmindedly scratched part of my face that was irritated. By the end of the movie, I had a river flowing down my face. Morbidly curious, yet not wanting a bloodstained face, I attempted to staunch the flow of blood with the old bit of toilet-paper trick. That seemed to work for a moment, until the flow became great enough that the tiny bit acted as a little boat and travelled down my face. It simply will not stop. It's been bleeding for nearly 12 hours, albeit at a slightly slower rate. I figure with the current flow rate, I've have egressed my remaining supply by Monday morning, just in time for work. :( Any secret tricks to get little nicks to stop bleeding out?

Squeeze the blood out, I guess it helps clot or something but it seems to work. Signature under construction.

I think the problem is in the razor... try switching to twin blade razors if you are not using them now. As for current problem i guess you already got all possible solution to deal with it.

Do as Tom suggests and apply ice to the area, the cold should constrict the blood vessels. Also, go get a styptic pencil from the drug store and apply it. Certain ethnicities have skin that isn't well suited to straight razors, in which case an electric shaver may be suggested. Your mileage may vary. I'm not a doctor, I don't even play one on TV. Jeremy, get that checked. It should have clotted long before now and, although I hate to be a scare monger, could indicate some other problem. Hopefully I'm wrong or it's something simple. Let us know how it goes hon :rose: The tigress is here :-D

Jeremy Kimball I have traveled the gutters, lo these many days, with no signs of life. Well met. -brianwelsch

I know those little knicks can bleed quite a bit, but you might get a check-up and see if you're a hemopheliac. That's quite a long time to bleed (at least for a guy  ).
