I`ve seen the lounge and the vc++ forum. I notice that if you post question on the vc++ forum, you probably won`t satisfied with the answer given. Maybe that`s why people post programming question on the lounge. I think there are more great programmers in the lounge. So where will I post my programming question. Hmmm. What do u think :)

Only if it's a stupid question, or a homework assignment, or a very involved question that would be too difficult to answer in a limited space, or a question that nobody knows the answer to, or a post asking for somebody to write their code for them. I think a lot of people expect too much from the answers; they want complete solutions and are not willing to do a bit of investigation themselves. How do you think the people answering the questions know the answers? By learning it themselves. By investigating and researching. The Lounge is specifically set up as a place where there will be no programming questions, so that people can just chill out, relax and have a bit of fun. That is why people get so uptight about programming questions here.

When did you start relaxing? More often, I think, questions don't get answered because they're incomprehensible - badly phrased, illiterate, or seriously incomplete. Sometimes they're not answered because the querent is obviously trying to do something any normal person would find objectionable and probably illegal. Some people think of it as a six-pack; I consider it more of a support group.

I think thwe good programmers are in the lounge because they don't want to answer stupid questions right now? for those who complain: definition of stupid: homework questions, and everything that can be solv3ed with an MSDN search. An stuff like "I need device driver write. What is difference C and C++?"

I've been active on the MS MFC newsgroup a couple of years, and you might learn how to put questions there. Do not write like this:
i have some kewl code that breaks when u run it. any1 no how u fix it?
or
I want my menus to work in a completely non-standard way, and I don't want to read any books, or check the documentation. Could someone please write my application for me? or even I have written some code like this: - tons of half-completed code - Why doesn't it work? What surprises me is the staggering amount of questions (well, in my opinion) where the poster seems to lack even the most basic understanding of the task. Why try to write networking code or do advanced UI coding before even learning the rudiments of c++ and/or the Windows API? And why not trying to find an article among the thousands doing something similar? Strange! There is nothing wrong with learning and asking, but sometimes you get the feeling that people have not stumbled on some specific problem, but rather tries to do stuff well beyond their current capacity. Either that or problems phrasing a question that it is possible to decode for another human being :-)

I see a lot of questions that are not formed properly. They often lack essential information, e.g. The whole post is "I get an exception when I push a button on my WinForms application. What could be wrong?" Well, really - What is the exception, where does it occur, how about posting the surrounding code (NO! Not the code for your whole application). Or, and this is unusually common and I don't know why: "I'm creating a chat application. Where do I start?" Well...... There are a lot of posts that are asking for help because the author just simply doesn't know how to use the basic features of the debugger, or they want to create some complex application but they've only been coding for a couple of weeks and have no idea about proper architecture.
