I'd do a google, but I'm scared to think what images might get thrown up. ;-) Michael CP Blog [^]

Spiderman, Superman, Batman and all other such men failed to raise any interest in my reading ever. They are not just meant for kids I think, and when I tried these out I was just a kid, and that prolly was why I did not find them particularly interesting. And when I grew up I never bothered to try reading them again. Cheers Smitha Every problem has a gift for you in its hands. -- Richard Bach

WTF??? Why must the same old stories be retold instead of coming up with something new. How difficult could it be to create a new hero uniquely Indian with no ties to anything Western?? :sigh: BW The Biggest Loser

But franchises don't work in bollywood so no further movies were made. On the other hand, there is a also a bollywood version of superman. It seems people feel there is money in re-creating Spiderman, so the public must be willing to buy, right? What would be different between a recast US hero and Mr.India (for example)? Is it that Bollywood doesn't have enough capital to hyper-market movies? BW The Biggest Loser

brianwelsch wrote: Is it that Bollywood doesn't have enough capital to hyper-market movies? I think its because most Bollywood actors play the same character in all their movies anyway so a sequel would be redundant. Also these movies typically end with all loose ends tied up to satisfaction and the lead pair is married off (You can't do interesting stuff after getting married: thats a Bollywood rule). Other smaller movie industries in India (like in Kerala) have sequels appearing occasionally. --------------------------------------------------
