Of course not! I admit it took me a minute to realize the trick here though. To save the rest of you the effort: we can guarantee immunity from all major diseases by removing a finger today. As a part of surgery you just inject a bunch of anti-clotting. You bleed to death, and dead people do not suffer from major diseases. This might make a good (or is the correct word bad?) horror film though.
