I noticed that my UML-editor now helps advertize two commercial offerings. Does that mean that my effort is worthless, or the advertizers stupid? :sigh:

OK thanks. :-) - If your article and contribution is crap then it is worthless. If your article is great then the advertizers are as you suggest are stupid. (for reasons of simplicity lets skip the middle ground) - But what's important is who benefits. I suggest from the above analysis that the article reader is in a WIN-WIN situation. Agreed if the writers stop writing the place is dead. - I guess CP is stuck between the proverbial rock and a hard place, just like many other sites. To keep the servers humming and paychecks coming in it requires the advertising revenue, however the more ads the less users want to visit. No surprises there. Regardz Colin J Davies

As nothing was done, I can only deduce that Chris doesn't like the idea himself. As I understand, paid CP subscriptions are easier said than done: there are some legal concerns about the article copyright, and some sponsors also may not like the idea of not being able to reach the most active part of CP anymore, so Chris could lose all of the advertisers at once. Yes, even I am blogging now!
