The first and big difference betwen SDE and Eclipse is that SDE is being written in C# and Eclipse is written in java. Eclipse is a mature product while SDE is in its early stage of development .The features are being added slowly but surely and the change has been barely noticable until now, a lot of features like project managment , compile services etc are already implemented Both IDEs can be extended with packages .Packages are plug-ins that each "teach" SDE how to work with things (source code, OO models, Web content, XML, graphics, workflow processes, video) almost anything you can imagine anyway , I like eclipse so lots of concepts from this IDEs are present on the SDE design. Thanks for your interest and If you have further questions feel free to contact me French is the language of love , C# is for everything else ...
