Very interesting. Not the kind of history we are normally exposed to in the the Marxist controlled school systems. There are only two forms of government - centralized and decentralized. All forms of centralized systems, whether fascist, communist, socialist, or what ever it is the lefties wish to call themselves, all suffer from the same fundamental and well known flaws. The differences between them may be of theoritical significance to academia, but for any practical purpose there is no difference between them. Nothing could be more obvious, and only the very dumb of or the very brainwashed do not understand that. There is only one goverenment designed from the ground up to be decentralized and that government is that of the U.S. - and we are coming dangeriously close to abandoning it. Decentralizing power is the only way to avoid the abuse of that power. Which is why it is so important for the U.S. to return to its Jeffersonian roots. If we don't, human civilization will simply spiral down a cultural drain like so much sewage. "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." James Madison, "Father of the U.S. Constitution"

In the first section, the Lazy Thinker provides quotes from Mussolini which he claims demonstrate how "The Left" is equivalent to Mussolini's Fascism. Clearly Mussolini was bad, therefore anything that agrees with or parallels anything he said must also be bad.

Mussolini: "When the present regime breaks down, we must be ready at once to take its place" Lazy Thinker: Again a great Leftist hope and aspiration.

Mussolini's quote is a core belief of any revolutionary group. You can find this sentiment in groups from Communists to militant right-wing black-helicopter fanatics in the US. There's nothing Fascist about it, at all. It is, essentially, the heart of what it means to be a revolutionary. Some groups will wait for the downfall, some will encourage it - they all want to be ready when it happens.

Mussolini: "The present method of political representation cannot suffice". Lazy Thinker: Modern-day Leftists too seem to seek influence outside the normal democratic channels -- from strikes and demonstrations to often successful attempts to get the courts to make law.

Again, nothing Fascist about Mussolini's quote - it's basic revolutionary rhetoric. Then, the Lazy Author lists things that are irrelevant to political orientation, and to Mussolini's quote, since all of what he lists is fully supported by the US Constitution - nothing outside "normal democratic channels".

Mussolini: "... one would there find no ordered expression of doctrine but a series of aphorisms, anticipations and aspirations". Lazy Thinker: This is how Mussolini described early Fascist meetings. Modern-day Leftist agitators too seem more interested in slogans than in any form of rational debate.

Yes, the anti-American, pro-Saddam, Librul, Feminazi, Freedom-fried, America-hating "Leftist agitators" are too interested in slogans. It's too bad Timothy McVeigh didn't blow up the New York Times, or that we couldn't bomb the State Department, or that we couldn't cut their mic's, or tell them to Shut Up! Shut Up! Shut Up!. Then we could have some real debate, and get past that sloganeering. Aspirations? You mean like this one:

"I don't want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub." - Grover Norquist, head of the ultra-right-wing " Americans for Tax Reform", and lobbiest.

Sky is not falling but you're losing libery after liberty bringing you to the point where you personally don't even care if your fellow citizen are taxed 90% - because in your view they're just rich pigs (...or jews in Germany).

My guess is he is unemployeed . Many liberals ( read broke ) find themselves in this boat and it is, of course, the fault of the oppressive rich capitalist ruling class ( read Republicans ) that has all the money and won't let go of any of it. Richard This is , of course, composed with tounge firmly in cheel but will still piss certain elements off. To them I quote Mark Twain ( of a sort - not a direct quote ) "Tis better to be pissed off then pissed on" "Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer --Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)
