I've been using a Canon's A20 powershot camera for quite some time and been very happy with it, but now it's time for (slight) upgrade. Does anyone have any experience on the newer Powershot A75 or A80? Any good? TIA

I've been using a SONY DSC P9 (old model with 4 megapixels) and it was fine (although the sont lenses are not the best ones). But now I have a SONY DSC V1 with 5 megapixels and CARL ZEISS VARIO SONNAR lenses and it rocks... it has a good software and it's a powerful camera. I don't know anything about canon, but you could take a look at sony's cameras... even if you need lots of megapixels they have a 8 megapixels camera. NOTE: all the "professional" models from sony can be operated fully manual (of course via software (pressing buttons and so on)). Hope you find the right camera ;)

I had the A20 and was very happy with it. Excellent picture quality and very easy to use. It was great until I left it on the roof of my car... Anyway, my wife just ordered the A75 from BeachCamera[^], for a very reasonable price. If you can wait a week, I'll let you know how it is. From what I've read about it[^] though, it seems like an excellent upgrade.

I've got a Powershot A80 - it's splendid!! It's got a nice mix of point'n'shoot features and 'adjustability'. I'd recommend it! Stuart Dootson 'Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p'
