On the contrary, it favors the americanization. If US movies weren't dubbed, they wouldn't be so popular and american icons so widly renown. By refusing to dub foreign movies and making remakes instead, US is doing some kind of cultural protectionism there :)

Sounds the same to me too :) Anyway, I've seen the Star Wars dubbed in Slovak and in Czech too, and I don't think that much of the Yoda talk was lost in translation. However, I still prefer the original English versions. :) Rado
