Recomendations for SysTray email checker

I'm looking for a simple, lightweight email checker that can check for email in several POP3 accounts and notify when new email arrives. I also want to be able to read the emai, but have no need to reply. It shouldn't use lots of memory, or cpu and free would be nice. Any recommendations from my fellow CP'ians? I've started using Popman recently, freeware I find it is very good as a simple mail checker http://www.ch-software.de/popman/[^]

I have spent a bit of time recently looking at what would be involved in getting it to work with Firefox and decided it is more involved than I have time or resources to commit to, for now at least. Thanks Ted, I'll check this one out as well. Ravi's suggestion has the plus of having source available for those of us that need to tweek things.
