Whether you like photography or not I think any geek will appreciate these shots. Just what great spectacle are we talking about here though? I love photography and the gear is a part of that. But I must admit these photos are a bit sickening. It's too much. It's huge, soulless, competitive and corporate. No craft in pointing 50 cameras at one spot and holding down the button. Sure, I'd like some of that gear but not like that. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan wrote: "I always knew that somewhere deep inside that likable, Save the Whales kinda guy there lurked the heart of a troublemaker..." But each shot taken from that stand could be different. I'd love just one chance at the sidelines of the gymnastics competitions, to take shots of their moves as I see them

I don't mean the 1 or 2 cameras per photographer in the background. I mean the guy up front with 25 or so cameras all on little pods. He doesn't have his eye behind a single one and has them all setup, probably took him hours to do. Probably from one of the big papers or magazines. It is excess. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan wrote: "I always knew that somewhere deep inside that likable, Save the Whales kinda guy there lurked the heart of a troublemaker..." Pretty impressive! Moreover, they are all Canon. Are they a sponsor of the Olympics or do every body use their cameras? BTW, there[^] is an inside view of the event by John McDermott (Free lance photographer). Callixte.[^]

That's what I think of when I see some of these riduculous reality shows. How does someone act naturally with seven different cameramen in their face and a sound boom hanging over their heads? ----------------------------- All truth passes through 3 stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

That's the difference between a hobbist/artist and a professional, I guess. When it's putting food on the table most are not willing to let the winning moment slip by because of artistic beliefs. BW The Biggest Loser
