I bought my wife an Ipod for her birthday. It was a little expensive at the time but she uses it all of the time and it has been almost a year and she is still proud of it. I may have a hard time finding the next gift but it makes me feel good to think I did something right.

..but that's probably not a good one, as MS are likely to make downloads available as WMA only, which the iPod won't play. I could be wrong, but I can't see MS passing up an opportunity to promote Windows Media... Stuart Dootson 'Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p'

Good job, Kevin! Women are hard to buy for, unless they happen to be geeks. If it makes her smile and think of you each time she uses it, it doesn't matter what it is, or what it cost. It sounds like you made a good choice in the iPod; may all your future choices be as wise.:-D "My kid was Inmate of the Month at Adobe Mountain Juvenile Corrections Center" - Bumper Sticker in Bullhead City

Good point that for iPod owners (and another clever move by Apple really). And you are right, WMA will surely be the only format they provide. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: "Gassho rei, Watson-san!" Crikey! ain't life grand?

Well done! But in a way, isn't that sad that "making a gift" is now synonymous of "buying something"? :sigh:

The trick is to not get them anything for their first birthday after meeting them, or on your first wedding aniversery ... Get them something nice that first time and they expect it every year. ;) Steve T
