Just realized that this GMail-mania would be the ulmitate way for spammers to keep their databases up-to-date. Just imagine all the GMail-wannabes happily posting their email-adresses all over place. Or why not just create a site that promises a invite if you register... *blink* *blink* (And yes, I think GMail killed the lounge. Maybe a insta-ban(tm) would fix it again?) Signature? Que?

Invites are already banned in the Lounge. Those go to the soapbox.. Killed the lounge? Did it die? I am writing upon a corpse? Rocky <>< www.HintsAndTips.com - Now with GMail Queue www.MyQuickPoll.com - 2004 Election poll is #33

To me, that ban doesn't seem that effective...

Well, posts are live, people still post.. Look at programming questions which are still found here almost weekly :) Chris mentioned that he may put in a forum for GMail which might help some, but I would expect some to still post here since they won't know about the other forum... Just today alone I've managed to collect about 2 dozen email addresses from this site. Alltogether I would have 50+ email addresses from codeproject members. All Thanks to GMail! Now, does anyone know where I can sell them? this is good quality merchandise I got here

Actually, if you didn't before, you got my e-mail right now. By posting in the Lounge, people who have e-mail notification turned on know the e-mail from everyone they talk to. Yes, even I am blogging now!

A whole 50? Wow. That's serious stuff. Big money that, 50 addresses... :) 50k and they might just pay you a buck. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: "Gassho rei, Watson-san!" Crikey! ain't life grand?

That is why I used a temporary email address when I was getting my GMail invite. That way I can just turn it off and have no more problems. I had read on a different board that this guy just makes different email addresses for anything that he signs up for. Then if he starts getting spam to that address, he knows that they sold the address. He can then turn it off and no more spam from that source. Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD
