I just recently acquired a new (my first) digital camera. I decided to go for something around the high end so I picked up the Canon EOS Digital Rebel. http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/eos_300d-review/index.shtml[^] I have to say that I am impressed already… Quite a nice bit of work. It was a bit pricey, but then I have to admit that I did not take a bunch of time to look around for a cheap price. I am taking a trip this December to Arizona and wanted a good camera to take pics with. I also wanted to get enough time in before the trip to get used to how it worked.

I went to buy that same camera at the local Best Buy yesterday...sadly, they were out of stock on them. :( Frank "Keyboard Error - Press F1 to Continue"

I just did the opposite - got myself an old EoS600 as a backup to my EoS10 for my upcoming trip to Ethiopia. The reasoning being that if it gets smashed to bits by some mishap nobody will be too upset... (I am planning on looking long and hard at the 20D when I get back though...) Yeah, part of the reason for me going to such a nice camera was so I would not have shoddy hardware to blame my poor phot skills on... ;P Now I have to learn how to use the thing correctly...

You're probably going to need a fisheye, an 80-200 telephoto erm..a macro converter... Yup - next to classic cars and single malt whiskies this is my most expensive hobby ;P '--8<------------------------ Ex Datis: Duncan Jones Merrion Computing Ltd

I have already been playing with a few of my friends lenses to try them out :) That's why I bought this one over some of th eothers. I like the fact that I can use other lenses and am not stuck with the built in one.

Not only did Canon increase the megapixels, but they increased the signal to noise ratio as well with the 20D. It won't be long before we can shot ISO-1600 (or even 3200) noise free!

LOL, so many people want to change their 10D to a 20D. I don't get it, I love my 10D and it's still a great camera even there is a newer model around. My next camera will be a 1D MKII, but it will take a while before I can afford one, in the mean time my 10D works perfectly good :D - Anders ShotKeeper, my Photo Album / Organizer Application[^]
