:smack: Bring it on "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

I recently saw a couple of ridiculous claims that MSN's new search works just as well as google. Nonsense. If you do some research searching (for papers and such) google stands out a mile. Its really really good at finding papers from just a couple of search terms you remember from reading the paper a long time back. "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

If MSN's search works so well, why haven't they implemented it on MSDN. It's extremely rare for the existing search engine to return a relevant answer, but Google almost never fails to find what I'm looking for there. If Google doesn't find it, it's not there. Just curious, who made such a claim - a magazine, TechTV, a barfly?:-D Whoa!! I just scrolled down and saw all the strange buttons for the first time! They disappear on a mouseover, too. I wonder what that's all about?:~ "My kid was Inmate of the Month at Adobe Mountain Juvenile Corrections Center" - Bumper Sticker in Bullhead City

Why not? Anna-Jayne[^] could submit an article how she got to design Darth Vader's codpiece for the UK Army! She's promised me to tell all about it on her blog, but an article would be even better! :-D -- Arigato gozaimashita!

Roger Wright wrote: what that's all about? :-D Beats me. I've been wondering since morning. No one's cleared that up as yet. Maybe its something new they'r in the process of trying. Roger Wright wrote: a magazine, TechTV, a barfly? Ok from the recess(es) of my memory I can tell you that one of the places I read it on was on the magazine eweek written by one of the regular columnists. Can't remember his name (but watch this space, its bound to come to me sooner than later). And the other was on someone's weblog (this I won't remember since I read this while I was navigating somewhere deep inside blog-land). The curious thing was both of these were Linux guys so I was suprised they were giving MSN so much credit. Or maybe they don't like google. /edit The guy's name is Jim Rapoza. Told you I'd remember. I couldn't find the article online though. /edit "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

                Found on Bash.org
