Anybody know how to kill or atleast get rid of crickets...? I don't really want to use pesticide incase my dog gets at it...he's the main reason I want them dead...there are about 20 of them in my basement and their making so much noise my poor dog can't sleep. He wines to come up stairs and then goes striaght to sleep. :) BTW - I've already captured about 10. I'm the Cricket hunter extraordinaire. :) How do I print my voice mail?

Wow... I have a spider invasion... I mean, BIG spiders. Fortunately they stay outside, but pick annoying places such as right in front of my door. How about I ship you the spiders, and then your cricket problem will soon vanish. :-D An expert is somebody who learns more and more about less and less, until he knows absolutely everything about nothing.

When we lived in Texas, there was a HUGE cricket problem there. They would get in the house and our cats would hunt them down. It was so bad that if you went for a jog down the road (almost a dirt road), there were easily 500+, if not in the thousands, there right on the road. Like you all we did was to catch them or let the cats catch them? Other things that we suggested to us home remedy type of things like putting some powder around the house (can't remember what it was tho). Here is a link with a couple of suggestions too. http://www.recipegoldmine.com/house/house.html[^] Of course now we are in New York and don't have the same problems. Steve Maier, MCSD MCAD

I was in Tennessee years ago when they had a once a hundred years Locus...infestation. I also seen spider webs so thick they could stop a cat (keep an eye on yours). Actually as long as they stay outside, I don't really care, but we've never had infestation like you described. It'll be cold here in another month and they'll mostly be dead I hope. I'd bring the poor hound upstairs for a few hours and fire off an indoor fogger in the basement. They use a decent insecticide that is quite effective and has a short half-life. What little residue is left behind becomes harmless to humans and pets in a short time. It would be prudent, though, to sweep up the cricket corpses before letting the pooch back downstairs, in case he's inclined to nibble on such things. Please...yer givin' me the willies... X| I'm located in the longitudinal center of Canada probably a couple hundred miles from the 49th even. In summer we get crazy mosquitoes (in fact their famous here :) yippy huh?) and sometimes grass hoppers, but NEVER spiders...except some small non poisoness house spiders. Although i swear I once seen a Brown recluse spider on my bed sheets, however I was probably screaming/crying so hard at that point it could have been lint. :-O I seen a pic taken by some rangers in Iraq of these two spider looking "Hair cutting" bugs (I believe they were from the scorpian family though not arachnide) stuck togather mating I guesss....god were they gross...times like that I'll put up with 3-6 months of -40 weather anyday!!! the hottest week in July turns about a 25 mile section of road into spider central. Luckily it is a large desert so no "river of spiders", there's about 200 tarantulas crossing the road at any given moment between noon and 3pm. If you don't like spiders, you don't drive during those hours. It's a slolem course you cannot hope to win. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau.

Get one of those tickers that are designed to rid your home of pests, they will soon vanish afterwards. Tony

Be glad you don't have bats X| . July and August are bat month where I live. I own a 135 year old, two story house, with lots of places for the nasty little buggers to get in . I've gotten very adept at catching the damn things. :sigh:
