Could someone with XP SP2 please try the demo app on this CP article to see if the custom crash dialog pops up? It should only take a few seconds to download and run the app. Thank you very much! http://www.codeproject.com/debug/xCrashReportPt1.asp[^] -- Edward Livingston (aka ExtraLean) -- "I still maintain that seeing a nipple is far less disturbing than seeing someone get their brains blown out." -- Chris Maunder

I gave you a one:( This is probably the best place to post testing http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/forums.asp?forumid=1651[^] <not that I never tried any sneaky crossposting before> :) Later, JoeSox "Always two there are, a master and an apprentice." - Yoda CPMCv1.0 ↔ humanaiproject.org ↔ joeswammi.com/sinfest

Actually, you don't even have to launch Visual Studio. In the article's download there is a "bin" directory that contains a few files. If you run "XCrashReportTest.exe" and then click on any one of the five "error" buttons, I'm interested to see which crash dialog you get. The standard windows crash dialog (looks like the first screenshot of the article), or the customized version supplied by the article (like the second screenshot of the article). And so you are running XP with SP2? Yes, I am running XPproSP2. When I launch the program I get only one button to choose from and clicking does invoke the windows OS crash dialog. Does that help? Best, Jerry

Yes, thank you for looking into this on SP2. It really is strange that you only get one button. If it isn't too much trouble, could you screen cap that so I can take a look? You should have 5 buttons to choose from when lauching XCrashReportTest.exe, very strange :wtf: -- Edward Livingston (aka ExtraLean) -- "I still maintain that seeing a nipple is far less disturbing than seeing someone get their brains blown out." -- Chris Maunder

Ohhhh... now I see. :-O:-O This was my fault! :-O:-O I see now that I posted the link for Part 1 of the article's 4 part series! I am interested in the result for clicking on XCrashReportText.exe in the bin folder from the download on Part 4 of the article, located here: http://www.codeproject.com/debug/xCrashReportPt4.asp[^] And again, thank you, thank you!!! -- Edward Livingston (aka ExtraLean) -- "I still maintain that seeing a nipple is far less disturbing than seeing someone get their brains blown out." -- Chris Maunder
