Right, I've given you a click from this machine at work (IE5!! urrgh!!) - it'd say Mozilla/WinXP if I was at home, and I'd give you a visit from my web server too (Lynx/Debian Linux) but sadly ssh ports are blocked from here :( -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!
Cheers.

Done. 2 bugs found. > recompile ... 65534 bugs found.
Ta, So far, it look like most people use Windows/Firefox.

It would've been very different a couple of years ago (before the dhtml boards here worked on mozilla based browsers!!) -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

humm... when I posted the message (few hours ago) I was the second browser collected. Now, considering Europe mighday and American wake-up, and cosiderng many CPians to go there ... may be it's normal to find many "windows users". Asians ... had probaly lost the post, and will read this evening (Europe late afternoon). And we had collected CP users's browsers. But ... how about if the same post wuold be done on a Linux forum ?!? 2 bugs found. > recompile ... 65534 bugs found.

Indeed. I was certainly using a different browser 2 years ago.

Currently about 6% of people are using Linux, which I suppose is not too surprising given where we've all come from. The majority of the hits so far have been from Europe with just under 50% of people using Firefox and just under 40% using IE. It'll be interesting to see if this changes significantly when America wakes up. I don't know any linux forums to ask the question in. Do you?

Would anyone like to take part in a quick poll to see what browser/OS we all use? If so, head on over to http://davidsalter.co.uk/browser/[^] and log your browser details. This should settle the Linux v's Windows debate once and for all :~ :~

IE is making a bit of a comeback..... IE: 44% of users Firefox: 48% of users

Nice to see that Firefox is giving IE headaches :) Yes, even I am blogging now!

I was going to agree, but IE has just overtaken Firefox.

Also interesting that Opera isn't really getting a look in...

Won't this survey only show what browsers people use for CP? I use Firefox for CP, Opera for everything else.

It's got 1! Just because I am the only one using it does not prove it is NBG, see my previous post.

I use IE (actually Maxthon) for accessing CodeProject and Microsoft only. So in this case my browser is logged as IE but my primary browser is Firefox.

Thats correct. There's not a lot of science here, just a quick poll.

I think PK is Pakistan. Roger Wright wrote: how did you detect my screen resolution magic;P (or maybe a bit of Javascript).

My primary browser is Maxthon (so IE) it is really so much better than any other interface by default. However I use FireFox at home because it loads pages on my satellite connection faster. Logged in poll as FireFox.
This demographic will quite happily click on shiny things however:laugh:
Found on Bash.org [erno] hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.
